It was requested many times for DrawPlus but we never got it; however, that shouldn’t prevent us from hoping it will be added to AD sooner rather than later! Is it a technically difficult thing to do? I once requested that it would be useful to be able to curve the sides of the teeth in the cog tool and it happened withing days of making the suggestion! In version 1.7 you will be able to create and move guides in all core tools and also have a way to lock them. Check this thread from Ben (one of the developers) for a couple more new features coming in the next version (and a few sneaks peaks/previews too).
