Grant Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Hi, My subscription for Corel Draw is up for renewal in 5 days time and I really keen to move over to Affinity Designer but one thing is holding me back and its the .cdr file issue. I have a promotional clothing company and a clothing brand with all my designs in .cdr format. Most of these designs are also saved in .png format. If I move to Affinity Designer do I need to convert all my .cdr files to another format so that when these files are opened in Affinity Designer all my layers, artwork, fonts etc are intact? This is a major concern for me....any hep would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Grant Quote
Staff Callum Posted February 13, 2018 Staff Posted February 13, 2018 Hi Grant, Welcome to the forums! You will need to convert your files to use them in Affinity I recommend converting them to PDF's or SVG's Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
Grant Posted February 13, 2018 Author Posted February 13, 2018 Wow, that's an awful lot of work to be done. I would have thought there would have been an easier way? Thanks for such a quick response" Quote
John Rostron Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 I had this problem a while back, though with only a small number of .cdr files. I found that for some objects .pdf worked best, and for others, .svg. However, between them I got what I wanted.
