iambia Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I did a clean install on my MacBook Pro. High Sierra. I've attached the book cover I designed prior to the clean install. And the cover after the clean install, with a fresh install of Affiniity, without carrying over anything from Time Machine backup. Everything clean. Would you know if what you are seeing is a setting I'm forgetting in Affiniity Photo why the cover now shows blocks instead of the letters and what I added inside the letters? I made no changes to the file. I merely opened it and now it shows different from the original after this install. I can't seem to figure out why it is showing like that when the original design was done the way you see, no strange squares with the image outside of the letters and seemingly hiding the letters. Staff MEB Posted January 24, 2018 Staff Posted January 24, 2018 Hi iambia, Welcome to Affinity Forums It should look exactly the same as the original. Can you please upload the original afphoto file so we can take a closer look? All files will be deleted after being inspected. You can use this link to upload the file. Thanks. Pšenda Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 For some reason, is not performed layer clipping. iambia Posted January 24, 2018 Author Posted January 24, 2018 That is SO strange. I opened the document this morning and it is now showing correctly! That is ODD! Wow. But it's not consistent. I copied the file to my desktop before opening it. It showed fine. Then I decided to open it from the location where I had it before copying it to the desktop. It shows as you see it (see attached JPEG). I've also attached the Photo file for you to look at per your link. Very strange. Staff MEB Posted January 24, 2018 Staff Posted January 24, 2018 Hi iambia, The file is opening correctly here so it's probably some issue with the program itself. Please try the following: launch the app with ⌃(ctrl) held down until a Clear User Data dialog appears. Leave the ticks for Don't restore window and documents, Reset Studio and Clear User Defaults then press Clear. Does the file open correctly after this? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
