How many version licenses do I need?

Hi,

I have Affinity on my IPAD do I have to buy another license to be able to run Affinity on my MACbook?  I realize the software is slightly different but having to buy two separate copies at full price is a bit much don't you think?

It's a different licence for each OS, so yes, you have to buy another license.  Each OS requires its own development and support, so that's not unreasonable, especialy when you consider how cheap the software is.

I think the price is quite fair ... so much so that I bought the iPad version even though I do not currently have an iPad that can run it.

Are you aware that your current version (1.6.2 according to your forum signature) is rather out of date now? 

 

Speaking of fairness, it’s only fair to point out that the OP is facing a considerably greater expense than those of us who started out with a desktop version of the app.

Yes, I am aware of that, but since Apple changed iTunes on Macs to remove the ability to download iOS apps, I can't download the update onto my Mac, & there would be no point in doing so if I could.

I bought Affinity Photo for Mac at the US introductory price, which was only $10 less than the current US retail price. I do not see that $10 difference as considerably greater in terms of real world buying power.

Ah, yes. They made the same change to iTunes on Windows.

As a current owner of the iPad version, the OP would need to fork out $50 for the other version. For users like you and me who started out with a desktop version, becoming equipped to run the app on both desktop and iPad involves additional expenditure of only $20.
