Text Written On A Circle

Hi all,

 

More than likely very simple but has left me losing hours

 

All I need to know is how to convert my text to a path so that I can for example place my text on a circle or arch...

Hi JayPea,

Welcome to Affinity Forums

Create the circle (or any other shape or path), select the Artistic Text Tool and place it over the path until the cursor changes to a "T" with a small wave below. click there and start typing. Alternatively select the circle and go to menu Layer ▸ Convert to Text Path and start typing. Note that this functionality (text-on-a-pth) is only available in Affinity Designer.

Hmmm I wish you could see my screen as no matter where I place my cursor I cannot get a wavy line for the text...

Hi JayPea,

Make sure the circle is selected otherwise it will not work.

Just to confirm, you are using Affinity Designer & not Affinity Photo, right? As MEB said, this feature is not available in the Affinity Photo app, only in the the Affinity Designer one.

That Aha moment.... To confirm, alas, no Using Affinity Photo so guess there is not a choice of being able to do this within Affinity Photo. I have managed a workaround using an online photo editing site then using Nimbus Screenshot but wish I could do it within Affinity....

Although you can't do it natively within Affinity Photo, you can use the file attached to this post to work around the problem.
