direct_current Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 A contact of mine asked if I could remove the glare from this photo. I gave it a go but couldn’t get the section covering the soldier to match. It seemed a bit of a stretch to completely remove the glare. Is this beyond Affinity’s limits? Thanks! Quote
toltec Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Well, it could be done but you are really stretching the limits of any software with that image. Affinity Photo would do it as well as anything else. Which is to say with great difficulty. A mixture of adjustments, curves, levels, exposure and so forth. There is no easy way, just trial and error. direct_current 1 Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
direct_current Posted November 18, 2017 Author Posted November 18, 2017 Ok thanks. Just wanted to see if I was missing something. Quote
Aammppaa Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 I had a bit of a play with the image... it is certainly tricky. Was able to get a reasonable match for the area obscured by the glare on the soldier, but as soon as that was fixed, it highlighted the light spill on the stonework, and the secondary reflections in the stained glass itself. Would be a lot of work to fix it all! Quote Win10 Home x64 | AMD Ryzen 7 2700X @ 3.7GHz | 48 GB RAM | 1TB SSD | nVidia GTX 1660 | Wacom Intuos Pro
carl123 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 A quick attempt (on the soldier) using Inpainting and cloning. To do it professionally would take several hours.
