cwmbrancon
Hi there, I'm trying to create a multi hexagon mask with a white border within Affinity Designer (happy to try Photo if this would be better). I'm getting close (lot's of trail and error!) I created several hexagons and then used the select tool and 'created mask from selection' but it doesn't quite remove the border (see image). Anyone know of any videos or instruction on how to do this. Any help much appreciated Thanks

cwmbrancon
Hi There, I've edited the post to attach the image. Does it show now? (I couldn't see a way to save the amended post!) Thanks
toltec
Designer or Photo, no difference Draw the shapes above the image Select and group the images Right click on the group layer and click Mask to below. Select all of the aligned hexagons and choose 'Expand Stroke' from the Layer menu, and then select each hexagon/stroke pair in turn and click on the 'Subtract' icon in the Geometry section of the toolbar. gdenby 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.4.1 (iPad 7th gen)

With snapping on, draw a constrained from center hex from one of the grid intersections to however close to the next set of grid lines you like. Command move the hex to duplicate to the proper position on the grid as many times as you need. There is a distribute option, or you can use a grid select some hexagons first and the option wont be greyed out. Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions. - S -
Another one. Timeline 01.mov (file no longer available) Edit to add: 'Snap to shape key points' need to be on in Snapping Manager for the second row to snap.
