jackamus
Is there way of finely adjusting the 'nudging' distance using the cursor keys? I imagine using a second key to divide the default distance by 10. Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools. Staff MattP Posted February 4, 2015 Staff Share Posted February 4, 2015 At the moment, there's only the opposite of that - holding down the Shift modifier makes the nudge ten times greater! Clearly, more options are needed here :)
jackamus
I discovered that as I was trying different modifier keys. Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Gear maker
Or could the nudge be made variable. Currently on my 27" screen a nudge at a 5000% zoom moves nearly a half inch on the screen. At a 50,000% zoom results in a move of 4.5 inches. Could it always move say 1 pixel of actual screen size? The nearly infinite zoom is one of the main selling points of AD so there should be a way to make such zooms practical. ronnyb
+1 for @Gear maker's last comment. There should be a Move tool key modifier/s for a 1 pixel nudge, no matter what zoom depth you are in. DrPocter
The nudge distance should be either · freely adjustable (distance and unit) or · one press of an arrow key should nudge the object 1 px/mm/ft – whatever the document unit is. (Holding down shift would of course move it 10 of whatever the unit is.)
jackamus
That is exactly how I would perceive it to work. Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Gear maker
DrProctor, what I meant was to move it 1 px of the screen, regardless of the zoom. If I'm backed out with inches as a unit, I may be showing 10 inches on the screen so I wouldn't want a nudge to be 1/10 of the screen or 2.7". DrPocter
Gear marker, I'm completely with you. The nudge distance should be independent of the zoom. jackamus
