Switch between documents

Recommended Posts

Hey there :)

Is there any way to quickly switch between open documents? I would have expected to find all open documents in the

"Window" menu section, but that's not the case.

Sure, you can use "File -> Open Recent", but let's say you have created a new document, then open another document because you want to copy some portion of it into the new doc.

After you copied what you need from the second document you want to get back to the first document that you had just created in order to paste things. But I can see no way of getting back to the new doc unless it was saved to disc before.

(Using AD app store version on OS 10.10.1)

Using the system wide cmd-tilde, as used by most Mac applications, would be a nice addition.

Command + tilde is a system shortcut that we can't change. What it does in most apps is switch between windows, not documents. You will find this all works in Separated mode since documents are usually inside a new window by itself.

In non-separated mode, the standard way to switch between views is Ctrl + Tab (ie Safari which is also tab base).

Edit:

Saying all that we probably should have a shortcut key to switch between views regardless of window mode.
