Hokusai
I'm not sure if this has been requested or not. In fact it might already be in Affinity Designer but I couldn't find an option to move an object from one layer to another (without changing its position). I looked for it in the beta as well and I couldn't find it. If it is there could someone clue me into where to look and if it isn't there, I would like to suggest it to be added (in time of course). Staff MEB Posted December 13, 2014 Staff Share Posted December 13, 2014 Currently you have two ways to do it: 1. Simply drag the object in the Layers panel from one layer to another; 2. Select the object Edit-> Cut, select the Layer you want to put the object into and do an Edit->Paste. Hokusai
MEB, Again thanks. I thought that there must be a way to do it but I couldn't find a menu option that would let me move things from one layer to another. Very convenient way of moving things. I thought about using the Cut command but because I didn't see "paste into place" I didn't think that cutting and pasting would allow me to maintain position. Phil_rose
I wish that one could drag an item to a layer from the pasteboard (if that's the right word) as you can in CorelDRAW. That is so useful! Quote I like turtles!
