Extreme lag when dragging guideline or image in Photo

Recommended Posts

macPro 2008

2 x GTX 970

single document 2200x2200 px

drawing a guide line of the image results into stop motion

If I make the image smaller it is all fine which starts to work better at around 1000x1000px

NOTE: I also experience the same issue on Designer !!!

I uploaded a screencast of that.

Sorry for not replying sooner cekuhnen,

In a more recent post I asked if you could try the integrated GPU to see if the issue persists. It could be to do with your GPU's but I can't see why.

I tried out the settings.

The main culprit is indeed the ruler.

it seems running the integrated GPU options makes Affinity run a tick smoother (less lag) but adds some UI glitches.

But the difference is minimal.

here are two screen casts.

Thanks for the vids. As you say, there isn't much in it so if turning the rulers off works for now then that's great. You can try the beta with the rulers on if you wish or if you're happy to wait until it gets pushed out for release that's fine. Cheers :)

Hi, I'm curious how you find the performance with a vector shape that has layer effects like bevel or 3D "on".

Tips to maximize performance from my experience: disable rulers, snapping, node snapping(pen tool), pixel alignment, kill history tab, hide/kill navigator tab, turn on hide selection while dragging, toggle UI off. :)
