Affinity Photo Beta (1.5.0 - RC5)

Recommended Posts

Exactly. :)  And it prompted me to look around the misc section a bit more which helped getting my font related panels organised (all on the left).

Now this is embarrassing. I can't remember if this is something I set myself or if it is built in. I though it was built in.

Anyway the important thing is you have discovered that there is a shortcut that can be set.

Now that I looked into shortcuts more thanks to the comments here I found an interim solution to this. I set option+L, option+R to toggle studio left and studio right (the bigass panels) and put in the tools that I don't constantly need. That helps with painting as I still have my floating stuff and only that. Especially useful in full-screen.

It's OK but I still miss being able to collapse stuff.

Hi Frank,

Since the keyboard shortcut to hide both panels is Shift+Cmd+H, I used Shift+Cmd+Left arrow for the left panel and Shift+Cmd+Right arrow for the right panel.  Thought, would share that.

Cheers,

Nana

Thanks, that works too. Odd though since the shortcut values were empty. Now I have two options to toggle them.

I put them on the right and left side buttons of my Wacom tablet btw. So depending on how I work I can stay adjustment focused (hands more on keys) or paint focused (tablet mostly).

Just noticed that with RC5 when you zoom with the spacebar, the cursor turns to a Move/Hand and won't return to the pointer tool on its own. Requires that I select a different tool, then go back to the pointer tool.

Nice. It's coming down to it. I recently bought Designer, and I want to buy Photo, but I might as well wait since the newer version is almost out now.

(I obviously can't partake in the beta. I'm just checking the status.)

The website is still a work in progress. The "Comics" and "Shop" sections are not yet ready. Feel free to connect with me and let me know what you like or what can be improved. You can contact me here, on my contact page, YouTube channel, or Twitter account. Thanks and have a great day!

Is 1.5 a new purchase in the app store?

Edit: Nevermind, I now see that they promised updates for version 1. Can a developer tell me when 2.0 is going to be released? Is it even on the horizon? Or will you do 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, etc big-ish feature updates? Obviously you don't need to answer, but I'd appreciate it! I plan to buy the app too but wouldn't want to do it if a paid update is soon.

^^ Yes, 1.5 is what I'm waiting for. The App Store currently has a 1.4 version.

It was explained to me before, but then the information seemed to change on another topic, so I need to ask again to be sure. How do the updates work? I understood that the customer betas after a purchase are the free updates, but then someone said they could update to the next commercial version, so I'm a little confused in what is eligible for customers.

Well how about that? The App Store updated Photo just 27 minutes after my post.
