Shawn1
I am new to Affinity and am having problems changing the font in Preferences for the User Interface. Could you please tell me how to make the user interface fonts and or icons larger on a MacBook Pro.
R C-R
You can't. This is an often requested feature enhancement but so far it has not been implemented. Shawn1
There is an option to do this in version 1.4.3; Preferences>User Interface>Font: Default or Large, it isn't working, though all of the slider options are working such as the gray scale for the background preference. Do they plan to have this option working at a later date? How can I contact an Affinity Tech Support Person to find out? (This is a brand new app for me; I just downloaded it this morning.) R C-R
Sorry, I was thinking only about the icons. You are correct about the font size preference, & I am fairly sure it is not new to v 1.4.3. However, while it does work for me (after restart of course) there is not as much difference between the two font sizes as I would like, & it doesn't seem to affect every UI font instance. Below is a sloppily made comparison of some of the elements with the two sizes: Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
Shawn1
O.K. Thank-you for your input, R C-R; It will take some getting used to on my new MacBook 15 inch screen; I have been using a 27 inch screen with photoshop. Sure wish they would implement this feature for a larger font. Is it possible to contact Affinity? This is the first link I tried through the help menu; I don't see any phone number for tech support. R C-R
These forums are the best (& only) way to contact Affinity for support. But the staff are very responsive here, so much better than any other online support site I have ever used that it still amazes me. Even the people that write the code actually reply sometimes, which is extraordinary. If have not already done so, check out all four support forums, particularly the Feature Requests one for commentary about that. Yes, it is extraordinary, but it isn't only "sometimes"! Twenty minutes ago (i.e. before 7 o'clock in the morning, here in the UK) MattP posted his 3390th post to these forums. For those who don't know, Matt is the lead developer for Affinity Designer. His colleague Andy Somerfield, the lead developer for Affinity Photo, also has a post count in four figures. "The early bird catches the worm" and all that... ;) I appreciate that a forum isn't typically a great place to get support - but in our case, we find the forum much easier to work through and we're all actively monitoring and reading whenever we're waiting for builds to test our features and fixes, so you should usually find someone around here unless we're all asleep... which happens very rarely ;) Alfred and Shawn1
Shawn1
Hi MattP....Thank-you for commenting on my post. Will the developers consider implementing a feature in the "User Interface Preferences" so we can enlarge the fonts and icons in the future? Hi Shawn, Whilst I don't know exactly what the future holds, I know that we'll do our best to improve the user interface and I can certainly imagine that attention will be given to these areas. Thanks again, Matt Madame and Shawn1

Thanks again, Matt I look forward to being able to customize the font size and the icons. Not everyone has great eyesight.
