File size difference Designer to Photo

Recommended Posts

The Design file is 72.6 mb in the finder (get info) When opened by Photo and saved as a Photo file the file size  ( get info ) is 51.mb that is a difference of 21.6 mb.  Why is it smaller as a Photo file?

Hi Uncle808us,

I have tried to recreate this here but my files are staying the same size. Would it be possible for you to provide the file that is causing this issue so I may look into this further for you?

Thanks

well that´s a 30% reduction....maybe you should implement something that does this automatically?

or is the difference in big files less significant because the maximum empty space is something like 30MB and when it´s more the that it get´s rewritten automatically?

Solved: File > Save As can reduce the file size from either app. Our file format is optimised for speed, and sometimes appends changes to the end leaving unused space in the middle of the file. Using File > Save As gets rid of that no-longer needed space.

This must have been what happened.

Thank you.
