You need a gradient fill rather than a solid colour for this. Try experimenting with shades of yellow, and include some white streaks to make it look shiny.

The metallic shininess of gold is the result of specular reflection, which is just a fancy way of saying it reflects light somewhat like a mirror. That means its apparent color will be a mix of the underlying yellow color of gold & the color of the light shining on it.

 

To duplicate that look convincingly, you need add specular highlights that suggest what direction the light is coming from, its color, & its strength relative to the diffuse reflections of less shiny surfaces. One way to do that is to put the highlights on a separate layer so you can experiment with its blend modes & opacity to control the intensity of the effect, & to add blur effects & such to control how shiny you want it to appear.
