NotMyFault Posted Tuesday at 05:51 AM Posted Tuesday at 05:51 AM I did the same test and opened the PDF in Safari and Affinity Photo. Safari passes the tests, Affiniy Photo not. Oufti Posted Tuesday at 09:04 AM Posted Tuesday at 09:04 AM FWIW, it's not better on the desktop Mac version. NotMyFault 1 Quote Affinity Suite 2.5 – Monterey 12.7.5 – MacBookPro 14" 2021 M1 Pro 16Go/1To I apologise for any approximations in my English. It is not my mother tongue.
Bound by Beans Posted Tuesday at 02:58 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:58 PM A significant shortcoming in 2025, considering ICC v4 has been standard for many years now. It has clear consequences for professionals and anyone working in color-critical workflows. Quote
NotMyFault Posted Tuesday at 03:27 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 03:27 PM to be clear - the issue affects opening of PDF files from Affinity apps. Affinity apps in general support color management for external displays, specifically with icc v2 profiles. I personally use 2 different displays with different color profiles and calibration. What is not working is stretching one image across both displays, it works as long as every window is fully inside one display. Using HDR/EDR is more fragile, don’t nix with SDR if possible. I remember that there were multiple issues with: color profiles having identical names but different content, embedded in documents (created on Apple devices) color profiles created by calibration apps when allowing icc v4 misinterpretation of 32 bit PNGs as linear gamma (not fixed) misinterpretation of grey/32 files (not fixed) Bugs opening HEIC files from Cameras like Canon R6Ii with hdr content in RGB/16 and PQ transfer function (not fixed) but I can’t find the old posts (V1 related?) right now and don’t remember if those issue were fixed already. Staff NathanC Posted Wednesday at 03:04 PM Staff Posted Wednesday at 03:04 PM Hi @NotMyFault, All four image quadrants have been (incorrectly) converted over to sRGB 2.1 on PDF import, resulting in the observed shifts. I've logged this with the development team to look into further. Oufti, NotMyFault and Patrick Connor 3 Quote
