fde101 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Which application, and how are you creating the document? If you are creating your documents from scratch, the units are determined by the template or preset which is used when creating the document. Use a metric preset or a template which was created with metric units saved in it and the units of the resulting document should be metric upon creation. If you are importing a photo it is likely defaulting to pixels, which is sensible for that kind of document as that is the native resolution of a raster image. That said, there have been numerous requests to set the default units for imported documents, as you yourself have pointed out, making this very clearly a duplicate request. Creating duplicate feature requests such as this is against the forum guidelines - it is better to add to an existing thread for a like request to avoid splitting up the conversation. Alfred 1 Quote
MikeTO Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Creating a new page? Do you mean creating a new document or image? While Affinity doesn't have a default units setting, each new document preset has its own units. The ISO sizes are all metric, the imperial sizes are all inches, and the photo/web ones are all pixels. If you like one of the presets but want it in metric, just select the preset, change the units to mm or cm, and then update the preset. Then each time you select that preset it will be in metric. Or if you mean each time you open an existing image such as a JPG and it defaults to pixels and you want it to be metric, you can't change the default, but you can change the units without opening a dialog box. Just right-click the ruler origin and change the units from the popup menu.
