Affinity V2 updates re: iPad OS 18: still OK on 16?

Just saw the notes on the new updates; they say they're compatible with iPad OS 18.

I'm still on 16, as I've never received any clear answers as to whether Apple even bothered to deal with the Apple Pencil "breakage" by iPad OS 17 updates and don't care to have to buy a new Pencil because iPad OS 17 (and/or 18?) bricked my current Pencil.

If you want to express a connection issue: According to the Apple forum it seems to be an occasional problem that also may occur with updates of earlier or later versions, not only with iOS 17. – If resetting the Bluetooth connection between the pen & pad and forced restarting the iPad doesn't help, contacting Apple Support online or in-store seems to have helped a few users.

I don't think Serif or Affinity can solve or prevent problems between Apple devices.

When doing some research prior to comitting to the iPad OS 17 update, I was seeing many user reports of the update rendering their Apple Pencils inoperable; all solutions I saw posted in various forums were reported ineffective. As Apple Pencil functionality in AFPhoto is absolutely critical in my work, I chose not to risk disaster and stayed with iPad OS 16.3.1.

Still, maybe I wasn't quite clear. The actual question I'm asking is:

Will the current update for Affinity Photo 2 for iPad OS — which is reported to be OK for iPad OS v18 — still be OK for iPad OS v16.x?

The iPad OS 17 Apple Pencil issues are with Apple and iPad OS, not with Affinity apps. I've not heard any word on Apple Pencil "breakage" after updating to iPad OS 18.
