I have a question about isolating a photo with Affinity Photo 2.6 Beta.

I would like to isolate a photo perfectly. Affinity Photo recognizes the object well,
but unfortunately I cannot refine the hair tips at the top. As soon as I use refine,
the entire selection around the object is refined. But I only want to refine the hair tips at the top. How could I solve something like this with Affinity Photo?

Is the image quality too bad for an isolator? I took the photo with the Canon R10 (RF35mm F1.8 Macro IS STM), but unfortunately the edges of the sweater are very unclean.

I would be very grateful for a few tips.

It would have been better if you had asked this in the appropriate “Questions” section of the forums rather than in the “Share your work” section as the “Share your work” section is for people to show the things they have created with the software, a bit like a gallery, rather than ask questions.

No harm has been done, but posting questions in the “Questions” section is often likely to get you an answer more quickly.

A moderator might move this thread for you so there’s no need to duplicate this elsewhere.

Thank you GarryP, maybe a moderator could copy the post into the appropriate category.

I think it’s also worth noting that the beta should only be used for beta testing rather than general work.

Is your question specifically about a problem you are having that only exists in the beta version or does it also happen in the commercial release?

Knowing more about where the problem can be seen will help the moderators know where to move the thread to.

Also, questions about using the beta (and its new functions) should be posted not in the general Questions forum, but in the Beta section of the forum. That's where users (and perhaps more importantly Serif staff) working on the Betas will be looking for them.

In this case I'd do two different selections, one for the sweater and one for the head and manually brush it on to the mask.

I don't think that the image quality is too poor but the contrast between the sweater and the background is very low.
