RegEx - Top of the line

I search with RegEx all tabs at the beginning of the line.

The expression should be: ^\t but it doesn't work!

I'm only looking for tabs: \t - that works

The line start sign (^) is not accepted - why?

Hmm, ^\t works for me. Option "Regular Expression" is checked? To be found when clicking the cog.

Is it a problem with the version? With an early version of V2 it worked - now no longer....

It works for me in 2.5.6 and 2.6 beta 2950 on macOS.

Can you share a screen recording of the issue so that perhaps we can pick out a clue?

You may not have any tabs at the begining of the line, you may have a first line indent set. You may have a series of spaces instead of a tab.

Use Text > Show Special Characters to show the tabs, spaces, paragraph marks etc.

I have now tried it in 2.6 beta and there it works without any problems - strange.....
