Mitch55 Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 After using Affinity for 3 mths everything was great so i bought it , then all my layers adjustments truned into Presets. i really need to go back to the old way it was before. I searched online for "toggle adjustment preset " and only found 2020 info that gave me no answers. Help? dont want to go back to Photoshop after 10 years. please include screenshots if possible. hope u understand my question. Quote
Mitch55 Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 i think i see what they have done... yes, if you want to use the preset thats fine, but included on the click/selection you have the sliders come up to add/remove adjustments. just gets getting used to. oye. Quote
Komatös Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Hi @Mitch55 and welcome to the forums. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is to go to Revert or Factory Reset. thomaso Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I am not sure if I understand your term "preset" correctly but if you mean those in the Adjustment Panel which can store additional custom settings then a complete factory reset should not be required. It may be sufficient to close the app and delete the file "adjustment.propcol" from the Affinity user folder inside the Affinity system folder. The file will get restored with default settings if you launch Affinity the next time. The file path depends on your operating system version, the Affinity version and the used store for purchasing Affinity. However, a search for the file name might lead you there. Mitch55 Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 yes , those in the Adjustment panel... they are preset settings to make changes ( like a suggestion) to your images. but i think i may have been in the wong mode per se ( not in Persona) , should have been in the Develop Persona. the light bulb one ( icon) just bought the program today and i bit lost , havent used it in trial mode in a while.. primary reason for the purchase is Astrophotography and planetary proccessing. thanks. I'm not sure what you want to remove in that panel but if you right-click on individual adjustments (any except the builtin "(Default)" one) you should get a popup menu with options to delete or rename the adjustment. This has to be done one adjustment at a time -- you can't select several & delete them in one step. With "adjustments.propcol" I meant those custom presets in the Adjustment Panel. These can't be disabled but deleted only. Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
R C-R Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 16 minutes ago, Mitch55 said: here ... I do not know what you mean by "disable them." If you click on one, you should get a popup showing that preset. If you do not want to use it, just click the "Delete" button there & it will not be applied to whatever layer you had selected. You can also right-click on the adjuestment layer in the layers panel & delete it there. Your screenshot shows the 3 default presets only. – But you wrote… 8 hours ago, Mitch55 said: all my layers adjustments truned into Presets. … which sounds to me that all your custom adjustment settings became presets? Or do you want to hide (not display) any preset in general? – If yes, it's not possible, unfortunately. That's why I avoid the Adjustment Panel (unless I want a preset) and use the Layers Panel button instead which opens the editor dialog directly when an adjustment gets selected form the menu.
