R C-R
If you mean a background layer, just select it in the Layers panel & then delete it. Staff MEB Posted July 8, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 8, 2016 Hi JARivera, sasansos, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Affinity Designer doesn't have an Image Cutout Studio similar to DrawPlus, but it has tools to do it. After loading the image, go to the Pixel Persona (menu File ▸ Personas ▸ Pixel), select the Selection Brush Tool and paint over the item/subject you want to cutout. Then press the Refine... button in the context toolbar (right above the work area), to refine the selection. To learn more about Cutting Out and the Refine Selection dialog check those tutorials: Cutting Out and Refining Selections. On the bottom of the Refine selection dialog there's a dropdown that lets you choose how you want to output the cutout: as a Selection, Mask, New layer or New layer with mask. Note: Those video tutorials are for Affinity Photo, but the Refine Selection dialog works the same way in Designer. Bri-Toon
I didn't even know about DrawPlus' Cutout Studio or about refining edges in Designer. That is certainly unique for vector applications. Quote The website is still a work in progress. The "Comics" and "Shop" sections are not yet ready. Feel free to connect with me and let me know what you like or what can be improved.
