Selective Colour- automatic adjusts the colors?

Recommended Posts

Hi Affinity Photo Team,

I've recently encountered an issue where simply opening the "Selective Colour" panel seems to automatically adjust the colors in my photo, even without making any changes. This behavior is new, and it hasn't happened in the past.

Could you let me know why this might be happening and if there's a way to prevent it? Is there a setting that triggers automatic adjustments when opening certain panels?

Thank you for your assistance!

I presume you mean a Selective Colour Adjustment. How did you "open" it?

  • Clicking the Adjustments icon at the bottom of the Layers panel and choosing Selective Colour from the dropdown? or
  • Clicking on the Selective Colour section in the Adjustments panel, then clicking on one of the Presets there?

For the Adjustments panel, the result will depend on which Preset you clicked.

For the Adjustments icon at the bottom of the Layers panel, I would not expect to see an immediate change, as the dialog should open with settings that cause no changes. If that's the approach you used, can you show us a screenshot (full application window, please) immediately after the dialog opens? And please have the Layers panel showing.

Thanks for your reply. I just clicked the Selective Colour in the Layers Panel and did not touch any presets or anything. I´ve been using Affinity Photo for 7 years and this was the first time to happen. However, I shut down my computer and now the problem seems to be gone. The issue also occured in the Develop Persona - Tones - Split Toning.issue.thumb.jpg.6adba1629371f1fe0744b59d151475e3.jpgissue2.thumb.jpg.51d2174879291840d399076dbbd01d40.jpg

Well, if it happens again, please capture screenshots, etc. so we can try to understand what was happening. I guess it's good that it's working now, but problems that just go away are annoying as they're impossible to diagnose and really fix.
