Export Selection more easily available (split)

Recommended Posts

Hello,
I'd like to suggest a new feature for exporting images.
When wanting to export a certain group of elements that are selected, it would be neat if Affinity would propose directly (if objects are selected) to export "Selection Zone" instead of entire document and then having to select "Selection Zone". It would save a bunch of time for all the times I exported without realizing I was exporting the whole document or workspace.
If objects are selected, there might be some debate if "Selection Zone" or "Selected Objects" should be proposed, but it would be safe to presume that the user wants one of those options.

Thank you,

Dave

Could you help me understand what the difference is between your Selection Zone and what is already in Affinity apps, Selection Area, Selection Only ?

I think the more relevant part of the suggestion is

In other words, if there is a selection, initialize the Export dialog to Selection Area or Selection Only automatically.

But I have no idea, if that were done, which of the two options should be chosen. Sometimes one is right; sometimes the other.

Ahh yes, there lies the rub, automatically. Instead of a drop-down with only 3 options... ;)

@The D

Welcome (back) to the Affinity forums :)

I've moved your suggestion from the beta announcement thread as it's not beta specific
