MmmMaarten
Hi, I'm thinking about getting a second Wacom pen, because some software allows us to switch brushes by switching physical pens. So I'm trying to figure out what software actually supports this before buying. Does Affinity support this binding brushes to physical pens by device id? walt.farrell
I haven't seen anything in the documentation or program settings that suggests that function would be supported. I agree with Walt but I also must point out that I haven't seen anything about how the second pen would work with any application. I would suggest using DuckDuckGo (or which ever search engine you use) to look for some Wacom tutorials on using two Pens in order to get a better idea. Thanks for the response. I have the same impression. 1 hour ago, Old Bruce said: I agree with Walt but I also must point out that I haven't seen anything about how the second pen would work with any application. Why should I search and find out what I already know, that it's already supported in other applications like Corel and Photoshop?! If you don't understand or believe it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. You search for it! [edit] FYI This is what Coral Painter says about the feature, which appearantly is called 'Tool ID' (I thought it was named 'Device ID', but it's basically the same thing): https://product.corel.com/help/Painter/540215550/Main/EN/Win-Documentation/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm#href=Corel-Painter-Wacom-Intuos-Support.html&single=true Anyway, thanks for the quick responses guys. It seems clear that Affinity doesn't support it.
MmmMaarten
Just for who's interested: Looks like this Tool ID feature to switch brushes by switching pens is already possible with Wacom since 2017!! And at least available in software since 5 years ago (!) as seen in this video by Aaron Rutten of 5 years ago where he literally does switch two wacom pens to switch brushes and talks about this in the video below (from tc 3'07"):
firstdefence
Theres only one way to find out for sure, have two pens/stylus and give it a go, if it works report back.
