macro not apply in the right corner

Recommended Posts

Hard to say without seeing the macro (which you can upload to the forum, if you want to)

But probably utilise these 2 commands in your macro after adding the logo

Arrange > Arrange Bottom

and

Arrange > Arrange Right

Thank you very much... I totally overlooked that option.
Now the only problem is that the logo should resize relative to the imported image size. Now the logo shows fine in a large image, but when I apply the macro on a smaller image, the logo is totally out of proportion and is way too large.

Hi @RossieRoskam,

Try selecting Min Fit from the left dropdown in the Library panel. before running the macro...

Thanks for your input. In this case the logo becomes way too small. It should be something like say: document width= 1000px than logo should be 200px, 'empty space' on the left side of the logo 800px.

Also: what would be the best way to import the logo into the file. Now I have an external afphoto file with margins around the logo, which comes in handy because otherwise the logo would end up flush in the lower right corner. It should have some breathing room.

@RossieRoskam: A hint for forum usage: it will be less confusing if you type your response outside the Quote box when you're responding to someone.

Hi @RossieRoskam,

I should of course have said that you'd need to use Max Fit for Landscape and Min Fit for Portrait Images... which should scale the logo proportionally based on the image dimensions...

For Example

  • Image 1 - 4,684 px x 3,123 px (Landscape)
  • Image 2 - 6,240 px x 3,512 px (Landscape)
  • Image 3 - 4,963 px x 3,309 px (Landscape)
  • Image 4 - 3,827 px x 5,657 px (Portrait)

I have a test logo which is 985 px x 620 px (including a top and right border to offset it from the edge of my images. I'm happy with the size of the logo on my first image, Image 1, i.e., the logo at 985 px x 620 px on my 4684 px x 3123 px image...

Proportionally the width of my logo is (985 / 4,684) x 100 = 21.03% of the width of my image.

When applied with the macro using Max Fit for Landscape images and Min Fit for Portrait Images the logo is placed at the following widths...

  • Image 1 - 985 px | (985 / 4,684) x 100 = 21.03%
  • Image 2 - 1,312.21 px | (1,312.21 / 6,240) x 100 = 21.03%
  • Image 3 - 1,043.66 px | (1,043.66 / 4,963) x 100 = 21.03%
  • Image 4 - 804.78 px | (804.78 / 3,827) x 100 = 21.03%

If you want the logo to appear at the same dimensions on each image regardless of the image dimensions then No Scale (the default) will achieve that...

You could keep the .afphoto or just use a transparent PNG file...
