... but not when I add the exact same content but choose "After" and manually enter the last page number instead of just choosing "After last page".

This was not a large document (44 pages, digest size, after this particular addition) and did not have an index, to address two things I've seen implicated in other forum threads on similar crashes. Latest version of Publisher on Windows 10. This is only a mild inconvenience since I quickly found a workaround, but it still shouldn't be happening.

Can post further information as needed.

Hi @Philosoraptor - Jeff H,

Thanks for your report!

I've tried replicating this on both macOS and Windows with a few different .afpub files and I'm yet to see this crash occur.

Can you please confirm for me, are you seeing this with any .afpub file?

When the document does crash, are you using multiple Sections in the file?

Many thanks in advance :)

Hi, thanks for getting back to me.

I just uploaded some files to a DropBox link given to me in another thread by your colleague (? I assume) NathanC. They will also serve as examples of files I was having this issue with.

I did not intentionally use any sections, however I had a look in the section manager and it appears that Affinity has automatically created sections for me, which at a quick glance appear to correspond to the individual files I've imported.

Thanks for verifying that for me - I've been able to replicate this crash with your files and I'm logging it with our developers as a bug now.

As you've mentioned if you specify 'After' with the last page number, the app does not crash - but does when using 'After Last Page' specifically.

I hope this helps :)

In my case there's no crash, but the spinning beachball forever (AffPub 2.5.5).

When using ‘after’ and the last page number instead of ‘last page’, adding pages is done instantly.

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for the additional info I will add it to Dan's original bug report.

@RM f/g This sounds like the same issue but I would expect the app to still crash, if you leave the Mac long enough does the app eventually start responding?

Thanks
C
