Hi there,

I've just seen there are some font issues in the latest update, and this is probably related to those.

I have found an issue when copying from a document with one Unit setting (ie. Pixels) to a document with a different Unit setting (ie. Points).

To replicate this, just follow these steps:

  • Open the 'Donor' file (set to Pixels)
  • Copy the Artboard called 'Logo'
  • Open the 'Recipient' file (set to Points)
  • Paste the Artboard

You will see that the text in the logo has not kept the correct size relative to the shapes in the logo.

My current workaround is to temporarily change the Document Units in the recipient file to match the donor before pasting, then change them back after.

Make sure the documents use the same dpi found in the document setup.
Recipient file is 300 dpi and donor 96 dpi.

Yes, that is a workaround. But grouped objects pasted between documents should retain their relative dimensions within that group, regardless of the document DPI

Oh god yes. This is driving me nuts.
I have to move several designs from a 300 dpi original to a 1200 dpi template and 2.5 is RESIZING every text element to 4x the original point size.
This is a horrible bug and also a regression, as 2.4 worked fine.

Font size shouldn't be connected to the resolution of the document. Typographic points are NOT pixels. If a point is 1/72th of an inch, it should be 1/72th of an inch no matter what resolution is set in the document. It's a physical size.

Please, take a look at this problem asap, it's a serious bug and it looks there's no workaround other than manually changing the font size, or having to change the resolution of one of the documents (which also means you have to rescale everything in designer, as there is no way to change the resolution mantaining the original pyshical size)

The issue "Text is being not being scaled correctly when pasting artboard into a document with different DPI" (REF: AF-3298) has been fixed by the developers in the latest beta build (2.6.0.2805). The fix is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Affinity Info Bot to notify us.

Affinity does a fantastic job.

However, to be honest, I don't understand why such a nasty bug requires a significant update rather than a minor one.
