Ryw Posted April 22, 2024 Posted April 22, 2024 I have just updated my copy of Affinity Photo 2 to the latest 2.4.2: every time I only OPEN any file - it crashes every time. I've rebooted my computer several times, now no ather program (beside Chrome) is working. Pls help ASAP. Version 2.3.1 workedwithout any problem Quote

That almost certainly means the problem is not caused by anything related to updating AP2 because that cannot affect any other apps than whatever Affinity ones are installed. So you need to do the various systemic troubleshooting methods relevant to your OS & hardware. There was absolutely no problem with version 2.3.1 but in 2.4.2 every time I try to open any jpg file - Affinity crashes. I've installed ale the newest drivers for NVIDIA (studio version). @RichardMH System File Checker did not revealed any problems Quote

The couple of times i've seen that, if i remember correctly is when Affinity is being run on a Virtual Machine, which i take isn't the case here? Could you also attach your log.txt which can be found in this location: %userprofile%\.affinity\Designer\2.0 If you paste that path into the Windows run box and click okay, it should open that folder with the log.txt file in Quote

To get the EXE version, go to this link: https://store.serif.com/update/windows/photo/2/ and click text under the main download button that says 'Also available: EXE (699.18MB)' Quote
