Screwdriver Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 I load Affinity photo on my laptop OK. Then I load a raw picture file OK. At this point the app stops working, no response from any adjustment sliders. A bar appears at the top of the screen "Affinity photo 2 (not responding). This has started since I purchased and loaded add-ons from Affinity. Quote
Hangman Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 Hi @Screwdriver and welcome to the forums, Which add-ons did you install? mopperle Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 Did you try to uninstall/deactivate them and check whether both of them or only one is causing the issue? Quote Regards, Otto Affinity Suite v2.6.x - Windows 11 Pro

Please state your OS and other system specs. Screwdriver Posted April 10, 2024 Author Posted April 10, 2024 I will have to try that Mopperle. Quote

Screwdriver Posted April 10, 2024 Author Posted April 10, 2024 Alfred, further to your question I operate Windows 11 home, core i5 CPU, 2GB VRAM, 4GB memory. Alfred 1 Quote
Screwdriver Posted April 10, 2024 Author Posted April 10, 2024 Mopperle, I uninstalled the add-ons with no joy. Quote

Screwdriver Posted April 11, 2024 Author Posted April 11, 2024 I have taken my laptop to the tech and had an 8GB RAM chip installed making a total of 12GB RAM. The tech said updating to Windows 11 Pro would not help my problem. The extra RAM has not solved the crashing issue. Robert. Quote
mopperle Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 And your Windows 10 is the minimum version as written in the system requirements? Your drivers, especially the graphics driver are all up to date? Also please attach the crash reports Quote Regards, Otto Affinity Suite v2.6.x - Windows 11 Pro
Screwdriver Posted April 11, 2024 Author Posted April 11, 2024 Followed the trial into crash reports by it show any. I just don't know what to do. All I wanted to do is make my photos look good. Robert Quote

Screwdriver Posted April 11, 2024 Author Posted April 11, 2024 Sorry about that, teach my to check the message before I send it. There were NO crash reports. Robert Alfred 1 Quote
mopperle Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 And what exact version (build) of W10 are you running? Are your graphic drivers up to date? Check the Windows Eventviewer for an entry at the time AF hangs/stops responding. Quote Regards, Otto Affinity Suite v2.6.x - Windows 11 Pro
Screwdriver Posted April 11, 2024 Author Posted April 11, 2024 Running Windows 11 home, 64 bit operating system, x64 based processor. The tech bloke said graphics are OK. I am not sure what you mean Windows eventviewer? Robert Quote
Screwdriver Posted April 12, 2024 Author Posted April 12, 2024 I have added examples of what happened when I moved exposure slider. And a shot of the screen you asked for. Quote

Please make friends with the Snipping Tool or Snip & Sketch instead of pointing a digital camera at the screen. You’ll get clearer images and they’ll have smaller file sizes. Dan C Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Hi @Screwdriver, Welcome to the Affinity Forums! 7 hours ago, Screwdriver said: Your screenshot shows a few interesting things - firstly your RAW file is being displayed as fully transparent and secondly the Histogram (top right) is showing clear corruption, which both would indicate a graphics based issue. Can you please open the app and navigate to Edit > Settings > Performance and provide a screenshot of your settings here for me? Quote
mopperle Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Turn off Hardware Acceleration and try again. And please make your self familiar with the screenshot tool. No need to make a video when you are asked to make a screenshot (single picture). 😉 Quote Regards, Otto Affinity Suite v2.6.x - Windows 11 Pro
