Screwdriver
I load Affinity photo on my laptop OK. Then I load a raw picture file OK. At this point the app stops working, no response from any adjustment sliders. A bar appears at the top of the screen "Affinity photo 2 (not responding). This has started since I purchased and loaded add-ons from Affinity.

mopperle
Did you try to uninstall/deactivate them and check whether both of them or only one is causing the issue? Quote Regards, Otto Affinity Suite v2.5.x - Windows 11 Pro

Screwdriver
I have taken my laptop to the tech and had an 8GB RAM chip installed making a total of 12GB RAM. The tech said updating to Windows 11 Pro would not help my problem. The extra RAM has not solved the crashing issue. Robert.
mopperle
And your Windows 10 is the minimum version as written in the system requirements? Your drivers, especially the graphics driver are all up to date? Also please attach the crash reports Quote Regards, Otto Affinity Suite v2.5.x - Windows 11 Pro
Screwdriver
Followed the trial into crash reports by it show any. I just don't know what to do. All I wanted to do is make my photos look good. Robert

mopperle
And what exact version (build) of W10 are you running? Are your graphic drivers up to date? Check the Windows Eventviewer for an entry at the time AF hangs/stops responding. Press the windows button +R > in the field type eventvwr This should show the eventviewer program where you can find the logs about errors and warnings by opening the items on the left pane. Please make friends with the Snipping Tool or Snip & Sketch instead of pointing a digital camera at the screen. You’ll get clearer images and they’ll have smaller file sizes. Dan C
Hi @Screwdriver, Welcome to the Affinity Forums! 7 hours ago, Screwdriver said: Your screenshot shows a few interesting things - firstly your RAW file is being displayed as fully transparent and secondly the Histogram (top right) is showing clear corruption, which both would indicate a graphics based issue. Can you please open the app and navigate to Edit > Settings > Performance and provide a screenshot of your settings here for me?

mopperle
Turn off Hardware Acceleration and try again. And please make your self familiar with the screenshot tool. No need to make a video when you are asked to make a screenshot (single picture). 😉 Quote Regards, Otto Affinity Suite v2.5.x - Windows 11 Pro
