Ken365 Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Hi, I've just downloaded and installed the latest beta and while the presence of artefacts has reduced significantly it is not completely resolved/removed (see below) Below are details of the system and the graphics adapter Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.60 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable) Device ID 9E946E9E-F147-4B54-88AE-CA1907EB9491 Product ID 00325-96026-34908-AAOEM System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display I do recognise this system is 'old' but, it did work, albeit slowly, in the older release. Also, once again changing the "RAW output format" to 32 bit resolves the issue. Please let me know if you'd like me to do anything else or provide further information. Ken EmT 1 Quote
Staff Affinity Info Bot Posted April 2, 2024 Staff Posted April 2, 2024 An issue raised in this thread ("RAW files have Artefacts when opened in 2.4.0/2.4.1") has now been reported to the developers by the testing team (Ref: AF-2178). Thank you very much for reporting this issue to us. Quote
AR44 Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 The green lines or artifacts that filled the RAW images in the earlier release are now red in Beta 2.4.2.2356! The lines do not fill the screen in the Beta, but are present and are red instead of green. I did not turn off Hardware Acceleration for my test photo. The red lines are present in the exported jpg, which is attached. Deselecting Hardware Acceleration, restarting, and opening the RAW removes the red lines or artifacts. The situation is better, but not fixed. Thank you! Quote
Affinityconfusesme Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 @AR44 can you circle where on the photo you see artefacts because I don't see anything? AR44 Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 A red tint is scattered throughout the photo and a little bit of green. There is no red on the dam. I am attaching two snips where I zoomed in on the photo in my first post. Quote

AR44 Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 On the unedited RAW, you will not see any. When processing a RAW in Affinity with Hardware Acceleration on, the lines, green or red, are an issue. At least in my case, it is an issue. I can turn off Hardware Acceleration and the problem goes away, so it's not unworkable. I'm simply trying to help the folks at Affinity with their software. Quote

AR44 Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 With the .2371 Beta update, the artifacts/lines still exist with Hardware Acceleration turned on. With Hardware Acceleration deselected, the red and green artifacts are gone. Patrick Connor 1 Quote

Meadman75 Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 It appears this is still not fixed. Could someone tell me when this will be addressed or a workaround ? Thank you Quote

Thank you As it says in the post just above yours, they believe it's fixed in the 2.5 beta. And other users seem to agree, so you might try that if you haven't.
