Publisher 2.4 Alignment to a key object does not work

Recommended Posts

@anto I guess this is not a bug. The difference is, that you use the additional alignment functions and options from the dropdown. These do exactly what the option "Align to" ("Ausrichten an") say. There is no explicit option "Align to anchor object".

Therefore i customized my symbols with all alignment functions directly availlable. If you then choose an anchor (key) object (ALT + click on Windows), the alignment works like expected:

Customize Symbols and Toolbar via view menu:

To honour the key object when aligning, you must to set the "First Selected"

It was not obvious to me that the "First selected" option should be enabled. I selected this object last

You're not the only one.
This was done in a non-intuitive way for that Align drop-down panel in the toolbar.
No one will associate "key object" with "first selected", because a key object is usually selected after all the objects you want to align are already selected.

@MEBThere should be a separate option for "Key object" in the "Align to:" drop-down menu.
