Attached are two files, each of which contains a vector-based Sine Wave, Parabola and Hyperbola. This allows for fast, easy creation of these three curves, which can then be scaled and/or edited as desired. Nothing fancy.

One is an Asset file (Curves.afassets) and the other is the Affinity Designer v2.4.1 file from which the assets were originally generated (Curves.afdesign). The strokes are black, and I included a white rectangle in the background so they are clearly visible in the Assets Panel.

To install Assets, open the Assets Panel and choose Import Assets from the hamburger menu.

Thank you Lou Dina! That works great!

One question though ... I have worked out that making the transparency 0, it makes the wavy line transparent, which is good, but when I tried to decrease the stroke, it puts a rectangle around the wave. How can I change the stroke thickness without getting a rectangle? I would be grateful for any tips.

Shame Affinity can't add a wavy line in their shapes button?? It can't be that difficult.

Easy to do....

Below shows a Gray ArtBoard (topmost level).

I dragged a Sine Wave into the document from the Assets Panel. That Asset has two layers...the black curve in the foreground, and a white background layer (mainly there so it's easy to see it in the assets panel). If you don't want the white background, expand the Sine Wave Group, then hide or delete the white background, or change its color.

Select the "Sine Wave" Layer and adjust the stroke width, type of endpoint, color, pressure curves, etc, as desired. You can stretch, squash or rotate the sine wave to your desired proportions using the Move Tool. You can also duplicate and merge two or more sine waves together if you want a longer curve, etc. Very flexible.

If you don't want to retain the "Group", simply drag the Sine Wave Curve out of the group in the Layer stack, then delete the Group.
