Publisher: Problem with version 2.4.0

Crashes should be reported as Bugs, I think, not Feedback.

What OS are you using?

Sorry, maybe an admin can move the thread to the right place.

Looks like that was done.

For what it's worth, your file opens correctly for me on Windows 11 using 2.4.0 (Beta) and 2.4.1.

However, I do not have all your fonts, and of course I do not have the Linked resource files. Possibly the issue is with those Linked resources.

I noticed that 3 of those files are on drive G, and of those, in 2 of them Resource Manager shows the path name using / separators, rather than the usual \ that Windows uses. I'm not sure if that's part of your problem, or not.

Example: Move image to bottom right.

I've moved several of the images on the first page, with no problems.

Which image on which page gives you issues?

Hi @wsilmenau,

It might be helpful if you could zip all the linked files up and upload them so we can test with your document or at the very least upload 'Natternkopf_Quardrat.JPG'

Hi @xrybak,

I'm having no problems opening your file though, with the exception of one file, all the images are Linked which suggests it could be one of the Linked files causing the issue...

Looking through the images in Resource Manager the file labelled DSC04866.jpg is shown with a Original DPI of 1 which doesn't sound right. I would try either renaming or moving DSC04866.jpg to a different location so the Publisher file sees it as Missing and see whether that allows you to open your file. If the file does open then replace that file and make sure the Original DPI is shown correctly in Resource Manager.

If it doesn't then move all the Linked files to a new location to see if your file opens and if it does add the images back in small groups until you find the image causing the file not to open, assuming it is one of the Linked files causing the issue in the first place.

In the meantime, I've resaved it and have attached it here... Note: I'm using Publisher 2.4.1

Hey @xrybak,

That's really great to hear...

I think the issue may be DSC04866.jpg (but could be wrong) so you could try removing just that one image to see if the file still opens and if it does then delete that image from page 34 and place it again from scratch...
