Rockbard Posted March 18, 2024 Posted March 18, 2024 (edited) Right now in Affinity if you select the artwork with multiple colors and tweak it in the color picker menu all the colors will snap to one color. So, the main inspiration for this feature is a color-changing behavior in Xara Graphic Designer. Xara enables you to change selected hues of the selected objects preserving its original Lightness and Saturation values, taking it as a starting point. Example : Object A: HSV: 10, 20, 30 Object B: HSV: 0, 10, 20 Color tweaking operation: HSV: +5. +5, +5 Outcome: Object A: HSV: 15, 25, 35 Object B: HSV: 5, 15, 25 Video example A: Pay attention to how Lightness and Saturation values are preserved across the selected objects. You can still tweak it, but the original values would be used as a base for any additional changes. Video example B: Notice the dropdown above the color picker menu to select the needed HUE among the hues of the selected objects. Edited March 18, 2024 by Rockbard Quote
Hangman Posted March 18, 2024 Posted March 18, 2024 Hi @Rockbard and welcome to the forums, You could effectively achieve this by using shades of a Global Colour... Editing the Global colour will then change all instances of objects similarly using that colour... Rockbard Posted March 18, 2024 Author Posted March 18, 2024 Thanks, I'll investigate it more. How do you feel about the behavior that was proposed in the first message? Quote

You can already achieve this by using an HSL Shift Adjustment Layer although it's not technically changing the source object colour... Rockbard Posted March 18, 2024 Author Posted March 18, 2024 Yeah, in a way, but not quite similar, do you agree? Quote

It's not the same but perhaps a different way to achieve the same thing... Probably the best thing to do would be to add this as a feature request in the Feedback & Suggestions forum... https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/122-feedback-for-the-affinity-v2-suite-of-products/ Quote Affinity Designer 2.6.3 | Affinity Photo 2.6.3 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.3 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse

It would be nice if whoever moves a topic could post something like ‘Thread moved from the Questions forum’, but I appreciate that they’re extremely busy. Yeah, I believe I chose the forum section accurately, but since it was mentioned to be in the wrong place I started to have doubts. Alfred 1 Quote
