I recently imported a file that opened in artboards. However, I encountered an issue when trying to use the Export Persona. Unlike when I create the artboards myself, I cannot see the artboards to be selected. Fortunately, everything else seems to be working fine. Each artboard contains its own content, and I can still export a PDF with the corresponding pages. I'm confused as to why the Export Persona isn't able to access the artboards information. Is this a bug that needs to be addressed?

Did you create that document or did you get it from someone else?

It’s possible that the automatically-created export Slices for the Artboards were deleted at some point.

You should be able to go to the Layers Panel and add the Artboard Slices back in manually.

It seems you have opened a PDF file, where each Page has become an Artboard named Page "n", which is expected.

You end up with only 1 Slice automatically created in the Export Persona, covering the entire document. However, you can create additional Slices if you use the Layers panel in the Export Persona, select all the pages, and click Create Slice at the bottom of the panel.

This is the way Designer has always worked, even in V1. I don't know if this is correct, or if each "page" Artboard should automatically  have a Slice created, as when you open a .afdesign document that contains multiple Artboards.

That would be a design vs bug question for Serif to answer.

I'm unable to find confirmation currently if this is expected behaviour, or if Designer should be automatically creating a Slice for each Artboard created when importing a PDF file - therefore I have asked this question of our team and will be sure to respond here with any information I'm provided :)

I can confirm that our team believe this to be a bug during the import/conversion stage when opening a multi-page PDF file in Designer and we would expect Slices to be created automatically for each Artboard ('Page'), as they are when manually creating Artboards, therefore I've logged this as a bug with our development team for you now.

In the meantime, you can manually create your Slices from the Layers Studio in the Export Persona, as GarryP has mentioned above.

I hope this helps!
