I've spotted the following problem, see image:

Behaviour in Publisher 2.4:

Er blickte mich mit seinen treuen Augen an und sagte: „Hallo!

How it should be and how it is in Publisher 1.10:

Er blickte mich mit seinen treuen Augen an und sagte: „Hallo!“

 

Bottom line: The closing (German) quotation mark incorrectly breaks after a full stop or exclamation mark ... which makes it extremly difficult to typeset special kinds of books such as novels.

Thanks for reporting this.

We do already have this logged with the Developers.  I've updated that report with a link back to this thread, so you'll get a notification from the Serif Info Bot when this has been resolved.

@walt.farrell afb-6879 was fixed a few builds back and a new Bug Report was created: AF-1036 which this issue fits under :)

Until this gets fixed, use No Break (Kein Umbruch) for ending punctuation and quotation marks as a workaround. As a shortcut you can create a text style for it.

Same problem - and no effect of using the workarounds suggested here (or in the previous thread regarding this bug). Where, exactly, do I find the "no break" option mentioned here?  The one in the "Text" main menu doesn't work.

Thanks in advance for any hints!

The issue "Typographic quotes can be orphaned to a new line, depends on language set and leading character" (REF: AF-1036) has been fixed by the developers in the latest beta build (2.6.0.3027). The fix is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Affinity Info Bot to notify us.
