I'm not succeeding saving embedded images with the "save as package" function in AP.

Embedded means, that the images are part of the document and not external files. When you open the package document you can see, that the image is still embedded.

Package is used to package all external resources that are not part of the document, but are necessary for it. Embedded images are part of the document.

So there is no chance to save the embedded images as a separate folder?

Export via Export Persona?

@Pšenda

to be honest, I prefer everything embedded in my document, even if it gets large. I don't like linked images.

Working with other layout softwares this was never an issue exporting the package, since it always included everything (that's what I understand under package)

Anyway, now I know... 🙄

I look into the Export Persona, thank you 🙏🏻

Of course, I don't know what the concept is in other applications, but the Affinity package "includes everything". If the image is embedded, then it is part of the document (it can be edited in it, so that the original embedded image no longer exists - more precisely, it no longer has any meaning for the document), or it is linked, and then it is packed in the Images directory. In a way, the behavior of other applications is strange to me - why somehow extract the image from the document that is part of it? What if it's modified in it, cropped, adjusted with Adjustments/fx, or even covered with text/another image and rasterized or merged, so the document doesn't even use its default form anymore? - is the source image then inserted into the package, or its existing/visible form?
P.S. Out of interest - why do you need embedded images in a package when they are part of the document so they can be reused at any time?

The Resource Manager will allow you to make images Linked (Make Linked) You could make a copy of your document, select the items in the Resource Manager, then make them Linked, then Package that document.
