nucleardirk Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 Hi! i worked on a file with some pictures in it. As I wanted to use this file again with some different pictures I had the following workflow: Duplicating the (unsaved) file in publishers main overview window. Open the duplicate and head over to the resources, than changing the linked picture files to new ones. In my opionion the result should be: two collage files with same look but different picture content. But: when reopening the first „mother“ file again, all pictured where also linked to the duplicated file! my mistake or a bug into affinity? Quote
NotMyFault Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 Why not saving the file, and then save again under a new name? it is especially important to save all valuable file outside of the default App sandbox location. Otherwise the files might get unavailable or deleted in case you need to remove and reinstall the app. Everything not saved should be rated as lost (you only don’t know when this will happen), this state is suitable for sketches / drafts / experimenting / learning but not for anything of value and in need to be permanently stored. pruus 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. Staff DWright Posted November 13, 2023 Staff Posted November 13, 2023 If you crate your document with empty picture frames you can then export this as a template and then open this when you wish to create a new document and link the picture frames to the new images. Quote
