icounter Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 Lately, without doing any changes .... I cannot use Affinity photo 1.x at all. I cannot open any document and I cannot create new documents. The result is "Not Responding" whatever I try to do. What I have tried: - untick the OpenCL flag in Preferences. - Restart PC - Install latest Nvidia drivers - try to delete the App data files (but I don't even have an Affinity directory .... I didn't change anything myself) - in Windows -> Installed Apps -> Affinity Photo I've tried "Reset", "Repair". The ugliest thing is that I cannot find the version 1.x to download from anywhere ... not even Microsoft Store (from where I got it, if I remember right). So, If I uninstall the app .... it's gone ? So I paid for an app that i cannot use it anymore.... Also, I've tried to login to my online account on affinity website, I have no way to download again Affinity 1 .... just to buy again Affinity 2. This is very ugly from my point of view. I only use it from time to time .... and I went Affinity especially because I didn't had to pay more than once..... Quote

icounter Posted October 25, 2023 Author Posted October 25, 2023 Thanks for the reply! Meanwhile i tried installing the v2 trial. I have the same issue with V2 on my Windows 11 Home. I cannot open any file or create any new file ( the window is "not responding" ). I haven't seen this issue until now. Quote

icounter Posted October 27, 2023 Author Posted October 27, 2023 i tried all that .... nothing worked yesterday. " What happens when you click file > New? Do you get any errors? Lee" When i did that ... the same happened ... nothing, and the window was "not responding". Today, I tried again ... and both v1 and v2 works correctly. Unbelievable .... could be something related to windows, cache or .... i have no idea. I did not do any changes, no windows updates or other changes from yesterday. Thank you all for taking the time to answer this. Glad it's working .... but this is very annoying, I've lost many hours trying to open a god damn file. :))) Quote
icounter Posted October 27, 2023 Author Posted October 27, 2023 the sad part is that .... i have no clue what was the issue, as I did restart the PC and tried again and didn't work, so restart was not an issue it seems..... I have to let it cool down 1-2 days 🤣 Quote
