Jenium
Hello, I have an issue with the size of the numbers of the footnotes. As seen in the image the "4" in the footnotes is larger than the "1", "2" and "3". In "Format" I have selected "superscript" ("Hochgestellt") for all footnotes in the main text and in the note body, so I don't think that's the issue. Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? Thanks in advance!
MikeTO
I'd first try "Revert All Footnotes to Document Settings" in case that note has custom formatting. walt.farrell
My guess: There's a Text Style specified for the footnote text. That same Text Style will apply to the footnote reference number, too. Perhaps it specifies a Font which has true superscript characters for 1, 2, and 3, but not for 4. In that case, for 4 the program would need to provide a faked superscript character. Easy solution, in that case: Create a Character Text Style to use for the reference numbers, and specify a font which has true superscripts for all the numbers that are needed, and specify that Text Style in the Notes panel for the numbers. (Or, you could in that Text Style force the use of fake superscripts for all the footnote numbers.) Old Bruce
I am going to guess that the cause is the "Old Style" numerals from the chosen font. Jenium
Thank you all so much for your insightful comments. I really appreciate it. I tried a few things: I created a character text style and also changed the font. It turned out that in some fonts some numbers look bigger... In any case it looks good now. So many thanks again! You guys are great! lacerto
