LUTs not saving info

Recommended Posts

Affinity Photo v.2 have a bug where you can't create LUTs to be used for color correction in other softwares. I show here how it is not working but also that it works great in version 1 of Affinity Photo. This problem have been since December 2022 as I can see on the forum and still haven't been fixed.

As far as I know (might be outdated) you can create LUTs by 2 methods:

  1. add several adjustments on top of a base image, then export LUT
  2. infer LUT by comparing the current opened image with another external file

i‘be never seen exporting a LUT directly from RAW edits.

Just did another test. It ignores everything I did in the Develop Persona.

The LUT is created from Adjustment Layers in the file.

The Develop Persona does not create Adjustment Layers, therefore actions done there cannot be captured and exported as a LUT.

It's only one layer in v2, used to be different in v1 but there is no problem.

The Develop Persona has never created layers, whether in V1 or V2.

I just now understood what you ment. But where to do adjustment then for saving LUTs?

In the Photo Persona, using Adjustment Layers, after the image is Developed. Do not make adjustments in the Develop Persona if you want to create LUTs.
