Designer 2.2.0.2005 Export as Lab Help

Recommended Posts

Issue 1

All exporting as a .pdf export as LAB color when I require RGB or at least CMYK for my secondary program. I tried to change settings during export and no luck.

Issue 2

Once I found a fix or adjustment, I was going to create an Export Preset for a pdf, however, there are no such settings for (Create Preset) as per....

Options menu To create a custom preset:
  1. From the File menu, select Export.
  2. At the top of the Export dialog, select a file format.
  3. (Optional) Select a Preset as the starting point for your custom preset.
  4. Adjust settings in the dialog's Advanced section.
  5. From the Advanced section's options menu, select Create preset.
  6. Enter a name for your custom preset, then click OK.

Consequently, when the corresponding file format is selected on the dialog, the custom preset is available from the Preset pop-up menu.

In order to save/make a preset we need to use the little Clubhouse Sandwich/Hamburger button to call up a menu.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

any idea how I can now force it to save as RGB, or CMYK, as Lab creates havoc?

If it's exporting as LAB then probably you have a LAB document. You could convert it to RGB or CMYK if that's what you want, using Document Setup.

Or, perhaps, these two settings in the Export dialog would help:

Once again ninja-ed by Walt.

Use the Colour Space and or the ICC Profile. Myself, if I were working to produce PDFs I would work with a document that is RGB or CMYK, I do realize that is not always possible so I might convert it to the desired Space and Profile before exporting. Or just use the Colour Space and Profile in the export dialog.

I use pdf as its the only way I can move vectors to a secondary program accurately since Affinity doesnt support .ai.

This document was not imported or opened. The document was created by me from a blank template I created and is supposed to be RGB/8 (see screenshot)

All I did was create a new document, create text on an arc, and added a 3d effect. Once saved, the document opens up as a lab color in my other programs.

Can you provide a sample Affinity document (.afdesign, etc.) to show this, and the PDF you exported?
