The last section on this page is still written for v1, it refers to clicking More and Close which were replaced by the Advanced part of the list.

Good spot, I've logged this with the Docs team.

Thanks Nathan. Here's one more:

https://affinity.help/publisher2/English.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Workspace/contextBar.html?title=Context toolbar

In the last topic, it states: "If the number of columns is two or more, the Tools panel will also display colour selectors. These are similar to those which appear on the Colour panel and Swatches panel."

In v1 Affinity didn't show a colour selector when Tools was set to a single column but the colour selector is always shown in the v2 Tools panel, although in a more compact fashion and without the None swatch if there's only a single column.

Sorry Mike, you've lost me slightly. Which topic is this quote regarding the colour selector from? The context toolbar topic you've linked on Mac only references the following:

Hi @NathanC,

There is an issue with the URLs in the Publisher 2 help file, i.e., the URL for the 'Tools Panel' incorrectly references the 'Context toolbar'.

If you searchĀ for 'Customising the Tools panel' in the Publisher 2 help file and click the first option in the list you will see the section @MikeTO is referencing but note how the URL contains 'Context toolbar'.

Ā

The text Mike is referring to appears at the end of this section and is (I believe) technically incorrect in as much as the colour selectors are shown, as Mike says, without the 'None' swatch when the tools are displayed in a single column rather than two or more...

Ā

If you then refresh the URL or copy and paste it into a new tab you then see this. Note how both pages use the same URL...

I think this is just because the page URL doesn't dynamically update when switching between help articles after clicking on an initial link to the help, and this has always been the case. If you wanted to link to a specific help page its best to use the right click > copy link address function. It's the same if you went in directly from the affinity.help page, the URL just remains as the 'index.html' the entire time.

Does look like some clarification is required, i'll log this with the docs team as well.

@NathanCĀ Here's another reference in v2 Help to the v1 Export dialog design:

https://affinity.help/publisher2/English.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Clr/ClrProfiles.html?title=Colour management

  1. On theĀ FileĀ menu, selectĀ ExportĀ and clickĀ MoreĀ in the dialog.
  2. (Optional) Select a differentĀ ICC profileĀ from the pop-up menu.
  3. Check Embed ICC profile

Should be:

Ā

  1. On theĀ FileĀ menu, selectĀ Export.
  2. (Optional) Select a differentĀ ICC profile from the pop-up menu.
  3. Check Embed profiles

Hi @MikeTO,

Thanks, going forward if you spot any other help errors could you possibly create a new separate post (unless it is to do with the original help article referenced, of course) It can get quite confusing when I'm linking these issues back to a thread which doesn't appear to have anything to do with the article.

Many thanks!

Will do. I've been replying instead of starting a new thread as I felt guilty creating new threads for such minor things.

Thanks, don't be. If the help guide lists the incorrect instructions/steps it is important that it is raised and updated to avoid any reader confusion.

I've now logged this one up.Ā šŸ™‚

The issue "PDF Bookmarks Topic- Export instructions still refer to the V1 method" (REF: HELPIA-614) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.3.x".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
