Can't place an image underneath another one

Recommended Posts

Please forgive me as I'm not a big user. Sometimes it's intense then nothing for ages.

As such I simply cannot, despite looking at a lot of tutorials, put my EEECoin behind the ring of hands.

Can anyone show me how to do it and if it's easier, change it for me.

I would be really grateful. Previous helpers are aware I have high levels of ADHD, and sometimes I struggle. I have definitely tried as I hate not having tried.

Thanks in anticipation guys.

I took out the button so I copied it and parked it in an unsaved file.

Then I marked the gray area with the selection brush with the brush size width 5, worked around the hands with refine. Cut out this button pasted behind the layer done.

This is nicer but also with a little effort

Thanks. That's what I was looking for. Can I ask if you have a copy of the Affinity File that I can have please. I'd like to try and sort out where there is too much Transparency on it.  Having the EEECoin as a kind of Table Top, is my intention.  I could then I assume, see in the file how this has been achieved.  I need to put this image into a Blog Article I've prepared ASAP as well.

I still cannot see how I couldn't get the EEECoin below the hands??

Very grateful

Robert

Sorry to nudge this one guys, but I still haven't been able to create the correct image, nor understand why I'm unable to make what appears a simple change.

Whilst I'm grateful to @Westerwälder the image provided has transparency in it, that doesn't achieve the correct effect.

I'm looking to post and push my Community Currency page because a Case Study is being done on our model to push through to the UK Government Representative, to the United Nations.  I can't really do that yet and thus, this nudge post.

Hoping that someone else may be able to shed light or provide a copy of my file with it correctly done, so that I can investigate and correct.

Thanks.

There are different approaches. Mine was adding a mask on the coin and erasing on the mask the parts of the fingers with the brush tool (black, or white for reversing the erase) plus I gave the coin transparency, so that I can still see the fingers.

Anleitung:

1: open image, selection brush,

2: Mask the gray areas in the image with the selection brush!

3: There are several possibilities, but always cut out!

4: Insert image

4a: Image below the image plane

Well thanks guys for that prompt piece of help.

I've opened up @joe_l's file and I've managed to edit to some extent. However I cannot get all the fingers over the coin????

I don't want transparency of the coin, but all the hands need to be above it. Just as if it was a Table Top for example.

While you are on the mask, just use the brush tool to paint where the fingers are. The transparency of the coin was only meant for seeing where the fingers are. Afterwards you can set transparency back to 100 %.

Edit: Fast masked image attached. Fine tuning is up to you.

Edit 2: Added an Inner Glow on the coin to make it a "bit" more natural.

Maybe try with different image of the people, there are lots out there...

Some will also be a lot easier to "mask"

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

That's what I was looking for exactly. Was going to put a little shadow on it like you did Joe. I can also see what you mean now with the brush. I will have to practice that a bit more, as I will likely do some more for the new website. The trick was creating that Mask and placing it in the right order I think. :)

That's the job done for me but my thanks also go to @Westerwälder and of course @joe_l for helping me with this.👏

I would be lost without the Community on here.

Good picture and idea also. I think I saw that image also on my Photo Use plan. Will keep that one in mind. Maybe a refresh later. :) Thanks
