Expand stroke fail

Very simple stroke. Totally off when I go Expand Stroke.

Same stroke copied and pasted into Illustrator, and it expands fine.

Why?

Hi @ianrobertdouglas,

The expand function appears to be having issues with the two overlapping nodes highlighted below at the end of the 'J' curve:

With the node tool selected if you shift click to toggle the node selection and then select the sharp/square node, delete it and then expand stroke again, it will work as expected. This shouldn't be a requirement for it to function so I'll log this sample with the developers.

Thanks so much. The curve of the J was created with the Corner Tool and then baked. I could barely see the additional node, and selecting it was not easy either.

Did you actually need to bake the appearance? If I use the corner tool and then Expand Stroke all is well.

This happens a lot of times even with simple shapes like rectangles that have strokes, then modified with the contour tool.. Even tho there is only one point before expanding stroke. All other corners are OK, but there is always that one weirdo..
