Impossible to update personas

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'd like to use my personas as I'm used to, with one click that switches from one application to another. But for a few days now, they've been asking me for an update for the "disigner" and "photo" applications. But I can't update them anywhere. There's no suggestion via the application on the computer or on my web page.

What should I do?

Thank you in advance

Alicia

Welcome to the forums @ALICIA M

The versions (e.g. 2.x.y) of the Affinity applications need to be the same in order for StudioLink to work.

If you are being told that, for example, Designer is not up-to-date than you can:

  1. close Publisher, and;
  2. either launch Designer and update Designer in the usual way via the application;
  3. or update Designer via the Store you purchased the licence from;
  4. and then re-launch Publisher.

You can do the same thing for Photo.

The best way to update your applications is to update Designer or Photo first, then update Photo or Designer (whichever wasn’t updated first), and then update Publisher.

This ensures that Publisher can see that the other applications are of the same version when it launches so that StudioLink works properly.

Publisher: 2.0.0

Can you show us a screenshot of the About dialog for Publisher?

This time it says 2.2.0 for publisher. But there are still no proposed updates for the other two applications.

Please see this FAQ:

I'm having a similar issue except it's only Designer complaining that it needs to update. Designer, Publisher, and Photo are all 2.1.1. When I tell it to update it says there's an "update error" and indicates it's trying to update to 2.20. This trouble first started about a week ago and Designer has been crashing a lot since. The issue doesn't seem to be fixing itself for me.

This topic is about not being able to use the Personas in Publisher because an application update is needed.

It's not about an application saying that it needs to update. But the cause is likely the same. This FAQ should provide more info:
