q166132
Hello, I would like to have only one stroke at the top and bottom of a text frame. How can I do this? Thank you Mike

There is no specific function for that. If you apply a Stroke to a Text Frame it will be on all 4 sides. There are Decorations for Paragraphs, which you can set in the Paragraph panel or via a Paragraph Text Style, and you could set up those Decorations to have one at the top of a paragraph (or set of paragraphs) and another at the bottom. Would that provide what you need? If not, my other suggestion would be to simply drat a line with the Pen Tool at the top of the Frame, copy it, and move the copy to the bottom of the Frame. Then, perhaps group the Frame and the two lines so they will remain together if you move the Frame. carl123
In Publisher you can also use a one-cell table and set the cell borders (top + bottom) to the stroke width (and colours) you want walt.farrell 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. thomaso
In addition to Paragraph Decoration or Table Cell's borders you can place separate layers with custom shapes as Pinned objects to the text and have them flowing with varying text lengths.
