Tabs not working in studios (Sonoma)

Recommended Posts

I had to switch to beta software due to the crashes of Publisher on Sonoma Beta. Now the software doesn't crash but the tabs in the left and right studio stopped working. I'm unable to select panels only workaround is to go to the Window menu and deactivate and activate the tab to get focus on it.

Hi and welcome to the forums. There have been a number of reports of the studio and tab issues with Sonoma. Serif has replied that Affinity is not yet compatible with Sonoma. While you're welcome to test it on Sonoma you'll have to revert to Ventura for production work.

I expect Serif will have this sorted out before Sonoma is publicly released.

You can find other reports of Sonoma issues with this search link.

I want to extend on what MikeTo has already said.

We are actively logging issues against Sonoma, however, in its current state it is effectively unusable and we do not recommend attempting to use it for production work. Feel free to have a play and let us know what you find, though—thanks :)

Strane is that Designer and Photo works flawlessly only Publisher have problems. In my case. I signed up for Publisher Beta some bugs (like crashing) are gone and new came (studio panels). I got one strange message from OS "You are using old and depreciated API: null" or similar.

The issue "[macOS Sonoma] Unable to change Panel or Persona" (REF: AFB-7965) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.1925".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
