Median blur live filter greyed out

Trying to clean up a VueScan dng file of an old photo. Tried dust & scratches first, but had no visible effect, so tried live filter (median blur) and this item was greyed out.  Oh, I also exported it as a .tif, with the same results.

Any help appreciated.

I suspect your image is 32bit, that layer only works for 8 or 16

In addition to the above, should you need to convert your document to 8/16 bit, you can do so through Document > Covert Format / ICC Profile...
